OK, I am painting with Ross :), the man is a great artist and I really enjoy his art. Since I am from Europe, I've only heard of this man only recently. I found this youtube video of him painting a mountain on a fake wood, and I thought I could try to simulate this technique in Photoshop.

Now I am watching his videos and painting with him. This painting is done watching Bob Ross painting his "Peaceful reflections", I only added the dragons and I now call it "Dragon Mountain", yeah I had to make it more fantasy.

I think of this as an exercise, because I really love the way this style feels and the result it brings out on the surface.

Although I am not as fast as the master him self, I managed to paint this in three hours time. Some custom brushes are made, but palette knife was simulated with Calligraphy brushes and smudge tool.

Hope you enjoyed, and I promise if you will see more of this style from me.

good job but i think it's more of his style than yours ,as he does it step by step, i didnt even have to read the artist description before i went "WHAT? BOB ROSS HAS BEEN HERE!" LOL dragons make it more "you" . bob passed away sadly, an awsomly flaky artist :) praise BOB ROSS! ... poor guy had so so so many parodys done on him. but how many artist get there own videogame ! true look it up!

Thanks, and yes it is definitely more of his style, I am still master-copying his work to get the better feel for way the brushes and strokes work. That is always a problem when your are autodidact, I have to rely on my own ways to find the sources of the knowledge. I've heard people made fun out of him, but than again this world is going to hell anyway, so nothing will probably change:(

And I head there is a game, but it is supposed yet to be announced or something?
